On Empathy Day, our school came together to celebrate one of the most important values we can share - empathy - the ability to understand and care about how others feel.
We started our day at Our Lady of Lourdes, Steelstown for our June monthly Mass where our readings, Prayers and Fr McDevitt's homily on the Sacred Heart of Jesus allowed us explore empathy and living how Jesus asks us to by showing love to others. Throughout the day, our classrooms were filled with stories, discussions, role-playing, and creating 'Empathy Resolutions' which are displayed in our school foyer to help our pupils explore what it means to walk in someone else's shoes. Empathy Day reminded us all that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Let's continue spreading empathy every day! #EmpathyDay2025 #KindnessMatters #WeAreACommunity
